LeBron James Reacts On Beating Miami Heat

The Los Angeles Lakers are tied for NBA lead, and the Miami Heat had their first home loss in 12 games. Forward Jimmy Butler helped the team earn the third spot in the Eastern Conference and the Heat was a perfect 11-0 at home entering Friday’s game against the Lakers.

LeBron, Anthony Davis and their teammates arrived in the city ready to defeat the Miami Heat. That’s exactly what happened.

Davis scored 33 points, LeBron had 28 while coming within a rebound of a triple-double as Los Angeles held off the Heat 113-110 on Friday night, delivering their opponents the first home loss.

“It was fun. It was like a heavyweight bout, like the old days, the old boxing Foreman – Ali type of atmosphere,” said LeBron after the game. “Two teams that are playing extremely well right now in this part of the season. Two teams that play physical, play together, play hard.

“That’s why they are where they are at this point in the season and that’s why we are where we are at this point in the season.”

The king of basketball had 12 assists and 9 rebounds and Davis had 10 rebounds for the team. The improved to 23-3, which extends the second-longest road winning streak in the Lakers history to 13 games and rushed from a double-digit deficit to win for the eighth time on the regular season.

“It’s a really good team that we’re playing, a team that has not lost a game on their home floor and they show why,” LeBron added.

The king started the match slowly and got stuck in the middle of error-prone seven turnovers. His teammates called him out at half-time.

“My team-mates got on my (behind), they told me you’re playing too passive, you’re thinking about the game too much instead of just reading and reacting and doing what you do.

“They told me just be me. Thank God we got two halves in the basketball game where I can flush the first one and then come back and help us win.”

LeBron’s teammates did a really good job on the floor. They just told him to be him. LeBron is the GOAT, so they just told him to play like a GOAT.

Butler led his team with 23 points, Derrick Jones Jr. scored 17, Kendrick Nunn had 16 and Kelly Olynyk had 15. Bam Adebayo marked 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lakers outrebounded the Heat 50-34, and the last of those was huge. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope missed a free throw with eight seconds left of the game to keep their opponents within two, but the Head wasn’t able to get the rebound. Caldwell-Pope returned to the line with 4.2 seconds left of the game, made one of two again and Los Angeles had a better lead.

Butler’s final shot hit the rim and bounced off. Miami said Butler was fouled to no avail. Los Angeles won.
