LeBron James Reacts On Playing Vs. Carmelo Anthony

The Los Angeles Lakers won another game. Carmelo Anthony and his Portland Trail Blazers didn’t have much luck against LeBron James and the rest of the team. The 136-113 win was brilliant, and this game was really special for King James. Playing against his good friend is really great. It’s a special kind of rivalry.

In his brief interview with media members, LeBron recalled the history he and Melo share. They have been playing for really long time despite the fact that their careers took a different turn. LeBron and Anthony were on the same team with the Olympics, and they are really great friends. LeBron says Anthony is his friend. Competing feels so good, and being on the same floor means a lot for the king of basketball.

“We got so much history,” LeBron said. “We’ve been competing for a long time. We’ve been on the same team with the Olympics, and then just our brotherhood. That’s my brother, man. It’s always great to be able to compete and just be on the same floor—period. No matter if it’s, like I said, with Team USA, when we’re teammates or just competing on our respective clubs.”

The Lakers didn’t want Carmelo Anthony

Their friendship has raised so many questions. Fans can’t really believe that LeBron was unable to bring Melo in Los Angeles. He is the most powerful player in the league, and he has the power to change rosters. Well, we know that King James tried to convince the Lakers to sign his friend, but it didn’t work. In November, Chris Haynes from Yahoo Sports reported that LeBron gave his friend a blessing to sing with the Lakers in the offseason. The front office didn’t want Melo.

This speculation about LeBron’s inability to get Anthony on the Lakers’ roster didn’t affect their friendship. Anthony had been a free agent since getting cut by the Chicago Bulls. The Trail Blazers signed him last month.

Anthony is averaging 16.7 points and 5.6 rebounds in his nine games with the team. He stacked 15 points in the game against LeBron.

The former NBA scoring champion felt good after the game. Anthony has a lot of fun in the game against LeBron. It was their 17th season, and they can’t ask for more.

“It was good,” Anthony told reporters. “It’s always fun going against him, playing against him in Year 17 for both of us. Being able to compete against one another at this level, and in now our 17th year, you can’t ask for more than that.”

LeBron was the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Anthony was third pick for the Denver Nuggets. Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade were picked in the first five.

King James played with three teams, and Anthony changed five franchises.
