Matthew Slater Gives Perfect Response To Tom Brady’s Pro Bowl Snub

The 2020 NFL Pro Bowl rosters were announced two days ago. Believe it or not, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t selected. This happened for the first time since 2008. This was the first season since 2003 in which zero offensive Patriots players were named to the Pro Bowl. TB12 has 14 career Pro Bowl selections, tying him with the greatness of Peyton Manning, Bruce Matthews, Tony Gonzales and Merlin Olsen for the most in the NFL history. New England has the second-best record in the AFC at 11-3, but Brady’s name wasn’t listed in the top five in passing yards, passing touchdowns, completion percentage, QB rating, and other relevant pass stats. Matthew Slater made the Pro Bowl, and his reaction to TB12’s omission was expected.

“He’s the best football player that’s ever played,” Slater told reporters after Wednesday’s practice. “I think that’s all you need to know. The best football player that’s ever played.”

Matthew Slater is right

This makes perfect sense for us. The Pro Bowl is excellent, but it doesn’t really matter. It’s a meaningless game, and real games are more important. What happens in the regular season is even more important. In regular seasons, Brady has performed better than any other player in the NFL.

This snub is actually great news for the Patriots because this will give Brady a perfect motivation for the rest of the season. He will need this motivation for the upcoming season. Oh wait, this sets another major question. Will Brady come back next season?

The 42-year-old didn’t make any comments on his future plans with the Patriots. He will play if he is healthy enough to hit the field. But, why did he buy a new home in Connecticut? Brady is moving, and he even stepped down from his position in Best Buddies. He’s been part of the charity for 16 years.

New England needs Brady to finish the season with a win. The team needs his talent to win Super Bowls. Will New England be this successful following Brady’s retirement? I don’t think so. TB12 is expected to become a free agent in March.
