Patriots Release Full List Of Inactives Ahead Of Game Vs. Dolphins

The New England Patriots will host the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium. The team has released the list of inactives. Quarterback Tom Brady will play with the team’s starting slot cornerback, running back and right tackle available Sunday. Cornerback Jonathan Jones (groin), running back Sony Michel (illness) and right tackle Marcus Cannon (ankle) will suit up for Week 17 despite being listed as questionable following Friday’s practice.

Here’s New England’s list of Week 17 inactives:

QB Cody Kessler

RB Damien Harris

TE Ryan Izzo

OL Jermaine Eluemunor

DT Byron Cowart

CB Jason McCourty

S Terrence Brooks

Edelman (shoulder/knee) and linebackers Shilique Calhoun (illness), Ja’Whaun Bentley (knee) and Jamie Collins (shoulder) were listed as questionable Friday but they practiced with the team. Jarrett Stidham will be used as a backup for the starting quarterback. With Michel, Rex Burkhead, James White, and Brandon Bolden on the field, Harris will still be a healthy scratch on the Patriots bench. Ben Watson and Matt LaCosse will be tight ends for the Patriots tonight. Offensive tackle Korey Cunningham is the eighth offensive lineman, and he will back up Cannon, Isaiah Wynn, Joe Thuney, Ted Karras and Shaq Mason with Marshall Newhouse and James Ferentz.

Cowart is a healthy scratch behind Adam Butler, Lawrence Guy and Danny Shelton on the group’s depth chart. McCourty still struggles with his injury. He’s played just eight total defensive snaps the last five games. Brooks was added to the injury report late this week due to a groin injury.

This game is an easy bite for the Patriots, but they need to win it to clinch the AFC’s No. 2 seed. The Dolphins lost the Game 2 of the regular season. Brian Flores has no chance against Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Last Saturday, Brady showed everyone that he plays elite football. His game is impeccable, and he is here to lead the team to another win. Will he make a mistake tonight? Will the offense play great again? They were excellent against the Buffalo Bills, and we believe the group will be even better tonight. Game on, New England!
