Raptors Superfan Makes Teen’s Dying Wish To Shake Hands With LeBron Come True

Lakers superstar LeBron James is an idol for many young fans. He is the greatest to ever play the game, and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says he is the greatest athlete. LeBron meets fans whenever possible, and this time he met someone really special, thanks to a Raptors superfan.

Toronto superfan Nav Bhatia decided to organize a meeting with LeBron and one of his greatest fans. Corey Groves is a 17-year-old from Brampton, Ontario. He is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and dreams of meeting No. 23. Corey is a Lakers fan, and he calls LeBron his hero. The boy was diagnosed with Stage 4 sarcoma cancer and doctors gave him a terrible diagnosis about six months ago. They said he has about a year left of his life.

Bhatia, who is a popular name in the NBA community, especially in Toronto. This superfan has been working really hard to make sure Corey’s dreams come true. His spokesperson, Rinku Ghei, spoke to CTV News and said that he was working “diligently behind the scenes to make this happen.”

He was able to contact one of LeBron’s representatives, and the meeting is scheduled.

On Wednesday, Bhatia surprised Groves, who was wearing his Lakers LeBron jersey. The surprise was huge!

Groves was planing to watch the Lakers game against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center on Christmas Day. However, Bhatia told him he was doing much more than just attending the game. Corey will get a chance to finally shake hands with the king of basketball.

“I only want to shake his hand. I’ll thank him for being an overall generous and kind person,” Corey told CTV News Toronto. “It makes me feel pretty good to see everyone came together and made it happen.”

When they meet, Corey promised to tell James, “Keep doing what you’re doing.”

LeBron and his team have lost five games on the regular season. The game against the Los Angeles Clippers is highly anticipated, and the king is expected to win it. He will have to get a lot of help from his teammates.
