Report: Patriots Players And Coaches Want Reunion With Antonio Brown

The New England Patriots decided to cut Antonio Brown, because he was accused of sexual assault and even rape. Brown sent a threatening message to one woman, and that was the final drop. He had to go, and the departure was followed by series of scandals. First, he talked against the NFL, and promised to leave the league. Then, he talked about Patriots owner Robert Kraft and his day spa scandal. Brown apologized for his tweet, and now we have sources suggesting that the Patriots want him back.

The door for his reunion with the Patriots is ajar. Rumors suggest that Patriots players and coaches want the organization to re-sign the troubled player. The information was confirmed by CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora Sunday. Brown was cut in September, and he keeps struggling to find a home in the NFL.

The big reunion

This reunion may not happen. Kraft didn’t really react to Brown’s apology, and he probably doesn’t want the receiver back. The NFL conducts an investigation into the allegations against Brown. The league will have to determine a potential discipline after the allegations of sexual assault.

“Former Patriots receiver Antonio Brown continues to train in hopes of a return this season, while the NFL determines any discipline from accusations of sexual assault made against him in a civil lawsuit. New England players and coaches would welcome him back, sources said.

“Owner Robert Kraft, who released Brown after playing one game with the team, is the deciding factor, and has not shown an inclination to give the receiver another shot after his repeated missteps on social media in the aftermath of his release by the Patriots months ago. However, if Kraft were to reconsider, sources said Brown’s teammates and coaches would support bringing him back, with Brown’s chemistry with Tom Brady obvious from his initial practice with the team and Brown getting along well with all parties during his brief stint there.”

Will Antonio Brown come back?

Let’s go back to Brown’s apology for Kraft. Many said that Tom Brady actually lobbies for his return. According to sources, Brady may have encouraged Brown to apologize in order to secure his spot on the roster.

In other words, there may be a slight chance for Brown to arrive in New England. But, the league will have to make a decision on his case and the accusations.

The Patriots are now playing the Houston Texans. They could definitely use Brown’s help and talent. In his single game with the Pats, Brown scored a touchdown. He is brilliant, but these accusations are too much for Belichick and the rest of the team.
