Stephon Gilmore Roast Bengals WR Tyler Boyd Using 2-Simple Words

Stephon Gilmore and Tyler Boyd see things differently. The Patriots star didn’t quite agree with Boyd’s attitude following Sunday’s game against Cincinnati. Gilmore was brilliant against Boyd’s team. He picked off two passes while returning one for a touchdown in the Patriots’ win over the Bengals. Boyd made a shocking statement, suggesting that he won his game against Gilmore. Even his coach doesn’t agree on this one.

The Cincinnati top wideout had a quiet game against New England. He was limited to 26 yards on three catches in the Patriots’ 34-13 win. His low production came as a result of Gilmore’s stellar game. Gilmore is making a case for his Defensive Player of the Year honor, and the two interceptions helped him a lot.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor disagreed with Boyd and defended quarterback Andy Dalton.

“Yeah, Andy had four picks. Three of them were against man-to-man coverage, one-on-ones. We got bullied… we did,” Taylor said, per a team-provided transcript. “Guys could go compete, knock the ball down, go get a one-on-one. I think Gilmore had what, two of them? OK. So their guys went and competed. They have a tough secondary. They play man-on-man coverage, and Gilmore’s one of the best in the league. We saw what that looks like today. The quarterback’s going take all of the blame for it, when in reality he taking some one-on-one opportunities that we had to take to be in that game, and go make some plays. You’re counting on some guys to get some separation and go compete, and they got the better of us on a lot of those.”

Gilmore agreed with Boyd. He appeared on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak and Bertrand,” and talked about Boyd’s bragging.

“I don’t know, maybe he was confused, or, maybe, I don’t know. I don’t know what he was looking at. False confidence.”

He is right about that one. We are not trying to suggest that Boyd is a terrible receiver, but Gilmore smashed him on Sunday. That’s all. Every sane fan would admit that. Boyd had zero chance against the Patriots and Gilmore, and he better swallow his pride. The numbers say it all.

New England defeated the Bengals, and the Buffalo Bills are next on their list. Brady’s team will finish the season with a game against the Miami Dolphins. We can already predict the score of these two. The Patriots will finish the season with an easy game.
