Unfortunately, it’s a true story, and the world woke up mourning the death of the Lakers legend. Bryant’s daughter Gigi was on board too. The Black Mamba was one of the greatest basketball players of all times, and his daughter was continuing his legacy.

Bryant was more than proud of his girl, and he enjoyed every minute of his parenting. In his conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, Bryant praised Gianna, and our hearts hurt.

“The best thing that happens is when we go out and fans come up to me, and she’ll be standing next to me. They’ll be like ‘you gotta have a boy, have somebody carry on the legacy… she’s like, ‘oh, I got this!’”

The Mamba was excited about Gianna’s future. He was impressed with his daughters, and he was actually trying to pass the torch as the girls entered the next stages of their lives. Gigi was a young star, and she was planning a huge UConn basketball career. Her potential was unlimited, and Bryant was proud of his girl.

The legacy continues

It’s absolutely sad to realize that we won’t see more of Gianna and her talent. She was ready to chase her big dreams. Sadly, life always finds a way to shock us.

On its website The Mamba Cup Tournament Series is presented as “developed by Kobe Bryant.”

“He was great, charismatic & among the hardest-working athletes ever, but what impressed me most was how deeply-involved Kobe was with his 4 daughters,” Kimmel wrote. “Pray for them, Vanessa, his parents & his fellow passengers’ families on this sad and shocking day. We will never forget you Kobe.”
