ESPN’s Mike Reiss Reveal Details On Tom Bray-Patriots Contract Situation

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported that the New England Patriots and Tom Brady haven’t discussed the quarterback’s contract since August. This was enough to add fuel to the fire, and we have fans saying that TB12 doesn’t think of going back to Foxboro in March.

Reiss reported that since New England would take on $13.5 million in dead salary-cap space March 18 when TB12 hits free agency, it would behoove New England to sign Brady before then if they are interested in keeping him.

The quarterback has spent 20 years in Foxboro, and he really likes the team. However, the Patriots offense struggled a lot this season and the team lost a playoff game to the Tennessee Titans. This development may affect Brady’s contract with the team.

The Patriots went 12-4 and won the 11th straight AFC East title. The loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 pushed the Patriots into the No. 3 seed and into a wild-card game for the first time since 2009.

New England had elite defense in 2019, but the offense was terrible. They ranked seventh in scoring, but Rob Gronkowski’s absence affected the game. Josh Gordon is out, too.

Brady had to focus on veteran slot receiver Julian Edelman. The wideout finished with 100 receptions, and his fellas didn’t have more than 29 catches.

TB12 missed the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2008. Brady’s 60.8 percent completion percentage was actually his lowest since 2013. His 4,057 passing yards were his lowest in a 16-game season since 2010. Brady had 24 touchdown passes and this was his fewest in a 16-game season since 2006.

These numbers may indicate that Brady will retire, but the quarterback said that retirement was not quite an option.

Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t discuss Brady’s future plans. An anonymous NFL exec told Mike Sando of The Athletic that Brady and Belichick want to win a title on their own. These two have won six Super Bowls together, and they make the perfect quarterback-head coach duo in the NFL. Will they come back for another title in March? Things got really hot despite the cold weather.
