Julian Edelman Offers Pre-Playoff Injury Update

The New England Patriots are plagued with injuries at this moment. Some of the key players struggle with injuries, and Julian Edelman is one of them. The veteran wide receiver was plagued by injuries in the past three weeks. Edelman went through a shortened week of practice ahead of the Wild Card Round game against the Tennessee Titans. The receiver insists he is in a good place.

“I feel good, and that’s that,” Edelman told WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” on Thursday morning when asked about his health. “I feel better than I have in the last few weeks, and I feel good enough to go out and compete at a high level.”

It’s notable that the wide receiver says he feels much better than he has been in the past few weeks, NFL Network’s Mike Giardi said the same thing. According to Giardi, Edelman’s shoulder injury is “worse than you can possibly imagine.”

The wide receiver hasn’t missed a game on the regular season. However, he was listed as questionable for each of the Patriots last three contests due to shoulder and knee injuries.

These were some of the receiver’s quieter games of the regular season. Edelman has caught just two passes for nine yards against the Cincinnati Bengals and was limited to 26 yards on three catches in a Week 17 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Edelman is a key player of the Patriots’ offense, especially in the postseason. The receiver has amassed an additional 1,412 yards on 115 catches.

“You play for the money during the regular season; you play for your name during the postseason,” the wide receiver said Thursday.

Quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense will try to be fully effective. They plan to use Edelman’s talent at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night.

Things don’t look too good for the Patriots nation. However, Edelman and his teammates will try to do their best to win this game. New England had to go the hard way, but they have been able to get over every obstacle so far. Will they defeat Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans?
