Lakers Get Update on Anthony Davis’ MRI Results Following Scary Fall

The Los Angeles Lakers have an incredible season. LeBron James and Anthony Davis lead to team to the playoffs, and things look really good for the team. Of course, the Lakers have to stay healthy to finish the season with a title. When it comes to health, LeBron played against the New York Knicks through an illness. Davis suffered an injury, and the Lakers will play without him for at least the next two games. The former Pelican suffered a nasty fall during the Lakers’ 117-87 win on Tuesday night.

Late in the third quarter, the All-Star went up in an effort to block a shot by Julius Randle. However, he was knocked off balance in mid-air. Davis fell hard to the floor, and landed with a thud on his lower back. Davis grabbed for his lower back and lied on the floor in pain. It looked like the injury was serious, and Davis had X-ray and MRI done on his lower back Wednesday morning. The results came clean and the superstar just bruised his back. The information was confirmed by The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Davis will join the Lakers on their upcoming two-game road trip against the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder. This is more than great news for Lakers fans considering how bad he fell on the floor. Davis has an important role in the game, and the Lakers need him to make the playoffs.

The Lakers medical staff immediately checked on Davis, and his teammates gathered around him to see what happened. After a few minutes, Davis stood on his feet, and hobbled off the floor alone. It was more than obvious that he is in a lot of pain, and media members followed him all the way down the tunnel. Davis could barely move. The All-Star initially underwent X-rays at the Staples Center, and the team said the results were negative. Davis was diagnosed with a sacral contusion. If by any chance don’t know what this is, it is a bruise to the bone just above the tailbone.

Davis’ status against the Mavericks and Thunder is no longer an issue, and the team will have enough time to work on their scheme. They are the best team in the NFL, and they will sure try to extend their current six-game winning streak.
