Lakers Provide Update On Rajon Rondo After Suffering Finger Strain Vs. Thunder

The Los Angeles Lakers had an incredible game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but Rajon Rondo suffered a nasty injury. The Lakers guard may spend some time on the sidelines.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that Rajon Rondo strained the fourth finger on his right hand. He is day-to-day, and his X-rays are clean.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James were on the sidelines for Saturday’s game. Rondo, Kyle Kuzma and the rest of the players proved everyone that they can win a game without the two superstars.

Rondo finished the game with 21 points, and this is a season-high for him. He also had 12 rebounds and eight assists in the Lakers 125-110 road win. Kuzma had his best game, too. He scored season-best 36 points on 15-of-24 shooting. That’s brilliant from the young Laker, and these great numbers come after the rumors about his trade.

The veteran may have to rest due to his strain. If Frank Vogel sidelines him this week, Alex Caruso, Avery Bradley and Quinn Cook are expected to share the point guard minutes for the Lakers. But, Los Angeles will probably have the lead general back in the mix really soon.

LeBron sat out the game against Oklahoma due to a cold, and Davis recovers from his bruised tailbone. The big man had a nasty fall in the game against the New York Knicks.

Los Angeles is having a day off before playing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. The Cavaliers aren’t tough, and this will give LeBron, Davis and Rondo plenty of time to rest before the next game.

It’s a big season for the Lakers as they are trying to make a statement. The Lakers are trying to show everyone that they made a good decision by signing LeBron and Davis. The team needs to win a title. They haven’t won one since Kobe Bryant. LeBron needs this title to prove doubters wrong. He is the king of basketball, and this is his league. ESPN and SI ranked him third, and LeBron promised everyone to reclaim the throne. That’s exactly what he did. He is on his throne now.
