LeBron James Changes Profile Picture, Pays Lovely Tribute To Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant

Lakers superstar LeBron James changed his profile picture on Instagram in honor of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Bryant and Gigi died in a helicopter crash outside Los Angeles along with seven others. LeBron can’t get over the loss of his dear friend. He and his teammates arrived in Los Angeles right after the news about Bryant’s death broke.

The pic LeBron used was taken in one of Bryant’s title wins. This profile picture represents his two main powers in life: the game and his family.

In an emotional message, LeBron revealed that he talked to Bryant hours before the crash. The previous day, LeBron passed the Black Mamba for third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. They didn’t get the chance to see each other in person. LeBron was devastated.

“I’m Not Ready but here I go. Man, I sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try I begin crying again just thinking about you, niece Gigi and the friendship/bond/brotherhood we had! I literally just heard your voice Sunday morning before I left Philly to head back to LA. Didn’t think for one bit in a million years that would be the last conversation we’d have. WTF!!

“I’m heartbroken and devastated my brother!! Man, I love you, big bro. My heart goes to Vanessa and the kids. I promise you I’ll continue your legacy man! You mean so much to us all here especially Lakers Nation and it’s my responsibility to put this shit on my back and keep it going!! Please give me the strength from the heavens above and watch over me! I got US here! There’s so much more I want to say but just can’t right now because I can’t get through it! Until we meet again my brother!!”

LeBron used that profile picture for a good reason

Bryant gave LeBron a shoutout on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. These are his final posts, and that makes LeBron feel even worse. LeBron and the legend talked late Saturday night, and several Lakers players listened in on the call. This was the last time they heard Bryant’s voice.

Right after passing Bryant’s scoring mark, LeBron discussed his admiration for the legend. Bryant was his role model, and he actually told LeBron that it is possible for a young player to play big against grown men.

When he entered the NBA, LeBron created a deep bond with Bryant as a competitor. Their friendship was still strong. It started out in 2008 when they played on the Team USA Redeem Team.

LeBron and Bryant became the face of the league for many years. These two didn’t get the chance to play together in the NBA Finals. However, LeBron will continue his legacy.
