LeBron James Set To Break Kobe Bryant’s NBA Record

The Los Angeles Lakers pulled out an incredible game against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. Lakers superstar LeBron James had an awesome 27-point performance against the Nets, and he is 17 points behind Kobe Bryant on the NBA’s all-time points list. In other words, LeBron is definitely going to break Bryant’s NBA record.

Bryant has 33,643 points, and LeBron will move past this figure tonight. That’s what every NBA expert predicts. If LeBron can make 18 points against the Philadelphia 76ers, he will become the third-highest scorer in NBA history. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone are ahead of him.

Bryant feels great about LeBron’s success, and he does admit that LeBron’s 2018 move to the Los Angeles Lakers is associated with this achievement.

The Black Mamba talked to the Los Angeles Times and opened this topic.

“When LeBron came to Los Angeles, he is now a Laker, he is part of our brotherhood, part of our fraternity, and we should embrace him that way,” he said.

“You got to celebrate … appreciate what he is as an athlete while he is here. Appreciate this guy, celebrate what he’s done because it’s truly remarkable.”

Bryant broke an NBA record long ago

The Lakers legend passed Michael Jordan’s record in 2014, and Jordan sent him a text to congratulate him.

“That was the most important thing,” Bryant told The Athletic. “That was cool. Because it’s such a brotherhood, such an amount of respect between us as players, and you know the amount of work and consistency you have to put in overtime so it’s nothing but love and respect.”

Bryant will do the same when LeBron passes him.

“I’ll for sure call him and tell him congratulations,” he said. “I’m so happy for ‘Bron, all he’s accomplished and continues to accomplish, he’s been great.”

Is LeBron better than him? Bryant says players aren’t really interested in the debate.

“It’s funny because people get so passionate over it. I understand, you’re fans, it’s a debate culture, that will never, ever stop. But for us as athletes, myself and ‘Bron and all the other guys, we appreciate each other, and we don’t participate in that stuff.”
