Michael Jordan Addresses LeBron James G.O.A.T. Comparisons

Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls once dominated the NBA, and LeBron James came to claim the throne. That’s exactly what happened. LeBron has three titles, and he is off to wining another one with the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron and Jordan are the base of the GOAT comparisons, and the legend shared his thoughts on this comparison.

“We play in different eras,” M.J. said during a press conference in Paris on Friday.

“I know it’s a natural tendency to compare eras to eras and it’s going to continue to happen. I’m a fan of his… But when you start the comparisons, I think it is what it is, it’s just a stand-up measurement. I take it with a grain of salt.”

He won six titles and had six NBA Finals MVP awards on his way to the Hall of Fame. Many say he is the best player in the NBA, but LeBron challenged this notion with the title he won with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron won three titles and has three NBA Finals MVP awards and 16 All-Star nods. He dominates the NBA at the moment and passed Isiah Thomas for eighth on the all-time career assists list.

King James passed Jordan’s career points total last March. He has 33,626 points, and this ranks him fourth all-time. Kobe Bryant and Jordan are ahead of him.

King James and his opinion of the comparisons

LeBron talked about the Bulls legend and the impact his greatness had on his game after passing him.

“You guys have no idea what M.J. did for me and my friends growing up. Just in a sense of, some days where you just don’t feel like you’re going to make it to the next day where I grew up, because of everything that’s going on. Like I wrote on my shoes today, I thank M.J. more than he would ever know. I’ve got to carry it on to the next kid. Hopefully, I can inspire the next kid.”

Well, Lakers fans are looking forward to another title, and LeBron will probably keep his promise. He promised to win a title with the Lakers, remember?
