LeBron James is one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA. His contributions to the game and relevancy in pop culture have made him the ultimate role model. LeBron is known by pretty well everyone and his brand has been globalized. Last night, LeBron and the Lakers were in New York to take on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. MSG is always filled with celebrities – like rapper J Cole for instance.
At one point in the first half, LeBron went over to J. Cole and the two dapped each other up. Sitting right next to Cole was Spike Lee who had a brief exchange with LeBron later in the match.
Needless to say, Twitter was all over it. Fans were loving the exchange between the two great men. Top famous rapper J Cole is one of the biggest stars in hip-hop and just like LeBron, his brand is global. Seeing the two of them together was significant for a lot of people, and here’s what they had to say.
“I was more of a facilitator in the second half. I wanted to try to get AD going,” James said after the win over Knicks. “He looked a little out of rhythm in the first half, so I wanted to come into the third quarter and get him going.”
“Our chemistry on the court is always great, because of how much we get along off the court,” said James.
