Report: Kobe Bryant Told Tracy McGrady That He Wants To Die Young

The death of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant shocked every member of the NBA family. Nobody thought that the 41-year-old would die at that age. Well, it looks like the Black Mamba has already thought about his death. NBA Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady knows more about this.

McGrady decided to put an end to his basketball career in 2013. He appeared on ESPN’s “The Jump” Monday and said that Bryant told him he wanted “to die young.”

It was a shocking revelation, and Lakers fans can’t really swallow the idea that their idol wanted to die young.

“This sounds crazy, but Kobe spoke this, he spoke this,” the shooting guard told host Rachel Nichols. “He used to say all the time, ‘I want to die young.’”

McGrady couldn’t hold his tears. He wasn’t the only person to cry. The entire country cried and grieved over the sudden loss. Lakers superstar LeBron James arrived in Los Angeles for the memorial of the Black Mamba. He was crying. Doc Rivers was crying too.

Bryant would also say, ” ‘I want to be immortalized and, you know, have my career be better than Michael Jordan and I want to die young.’ ” McGrady was devastated.

McGrady was dancing with his daughter at an event for his lovely wife when the news about Bryant’s death broke.

“They came and told me the news and I just couldn’t believe it,” he said. “Just like everybody else, but … I’m devastated.”

Bryant died at 41. He was accompanied by his daughter Gianna and seven others. Authorities confirm that there are no survivors. Bryant’s helicopter crashed in Calabasas, and the legend was traveling to a youth basketball tournament. Nine people lost their lives in the crash, and the world was left in shock. Bryant is a legend and his name will always be mentioned in the GOAT debate. He was an inspiration for every young athlete, and players will continue his legacy. He was all-in when it comes to winning, and his twenty years as a Laker were full of success and awards. Rest in peace, Black Mamba!
