Rob Gronkowski Gives Revealing Quote On His Possible NFL Return

Rob Gronkowski enjoys his post-retirement life, and he even has a word or two for Tom Brady. The Patriots quarterback is about to make one of the biggest decisions in his life. Gronk has already made a decision. He retired last year, and he still won’t say whether he is retired for good. Is Gronkowski ready for an NFL return?

He did say that he doesn’t regret his decision, but there’s still enough room left for a return.

“I knew that’s what I wanted to do,” Gronkowski said. “I knew that that’s where I was headed, and no regrets at all, man. I’m having a good year. I felt like that was the time. I had a couple — a month or so after the season and just felt like that was the time. It feels good to know that it was a good decision.”

Gronk’s passion for a good workout is still here. He is young, and maybe he will return at some point.

“I don’t know. I mean, I’m a young guy, 30 years old. Still love to work out, stay in shape. I will never say a complete no because I love playing sports, I love competing. It’s still what I do to this day. No matter what it is, if I’m out playing basketball, and I’ll answer this the same as I always answer it. If I ever come back and I feel I have that passion, that strong passion for a continued time, not just one day or one hour, like, ‘Oh, man. I need to play football again.’ I’m talking like a continued passion for about a good week or a good month or so. Then I would think about truly returning to football.”

Is the passion gone?

Did he really lose his passion? Gronk was plagued with injuries and he was in pain. It was almost impossible for him to enjoy the game, because he was in pain all the time. Replacing the big Gronk is almost impossible, and the Patriots offense struggled last season. Will they find another Gronk for the upcoming season? Josh McDaniels once said that it’s impossible to replace the star tight end. Let’s see if he was right.
