The ‘Scary’ Thing About Lakers Which Will Concern Clippers In NBA Title Race

LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the Lakers have great success on the floor this season. They are all-in when it comes to winning games. Dwight Howard, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Danny Green have shown great effort. Alex Caruso and Rajon Rondo stepped up their game. The Los Angeles Clippers are trying to use “load management” with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and the rest of their key players. British basketball league star Ovie Soko says the Lakers have yet to reach their full potential.

“It’s not so much even to do with they’ve got one of the best records in the NBA. I think that’s just a product of how they’re playing,” he told Express Sport.

“What’s impressing me most with those guys is the way that they’re winning and some of the team chemistry that they’ve seemingly been able to build quite quickly. That’s one of the things everyone wasn’t sure of… LeBron and AD have led the way for those guys and they hit the ground running and they haven’t slowed down. I honestly think they’re in cruise control at the moment.

“They’re going to be in every game just because they’ve got that much experience, they’ve got a bench clearly, they’ve got a lot of talent and a lot of seasoned vets and you see that.

“On the other side, when you look at other teams potentially contending… [with LeBron] there are guys that have won championships with separate organizations on the team. You’ve got one who won a championship with the Spurs, someone who won with Boston, obviously, LeBron’s won at Cleveland and Miami and JaVale McGee won with the Warriors.

“You’ve got guys who are winners and then you’ve got a No 1 pick in Dwight Howard who’s willing and he’s shown how willing he is to play the sort of garbage man role which is a huge role when it comes playoff time. That’s what make good teams great. It’s guys who can do all the little jobs that the superstars aren’t doing well and they’ve got guys doing that stuff at a very, very high clip. When Kuz [Kuzma] really starts getting back into the swing of things – they’ve still go so much room for growth and that’s what scares me about them.

“They may have lost to Giannis the other night, but over seven games are you going to be able to count on Giannis making five-of-eight threes? I don’t know. Even with him shooting lights out – probably the best we’ve seen him shoot, especially in a high-profile game – they still only lost by single digits. It just shows you how scary that team is. That they haven’t even reached their full potential yet.”
