Two Patriots Players Voted To All-Pro First Team, Including Unanimous Selection

The New England Patriots are packed with talented players, but just two players were unanimously voted to the 2019 Associated Press NFL All-Pro Team.

As you may be guessing, Stephon Gilmore is one of them. The New England Patriots’ star cornerback had votes from all 50 AP voters. This gave him a spot on the All-Pro First Team for the second consecutive season.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is the other unanimous selection. Gilmore led the league in passes defended (20). He tied for first in interceptions (six) during a standout regular season, and became one of two Patriots selected to the All-Pro First Team. Special teamer Matthew Slater is the other Patriot. Slater and Gilmore were voted to the 2020 Pro Bowl.

Patriots left guard Joe Thuney was given a spot on the All-Pro Second Team for the first time in his professional areer. He had three votes, and trails Quenton Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts (44) at his position.

Other Patriots players had All-Pro votes, too. Wide receiver Julian Edelman, safety Devin McCourty, cornerbacks Jonathan Jones and J.C. Jackson, linebackers Dont’a Hightower, Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins and special teamer Nate Ebner all received the votes.

Tom Brady’s favorite target finished fifth among wideouts, and McCourty was seventh in the groupsafeties.

New England lost the regular-season finale to the Miami Dolphins last Sunday, and they will have to host the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night to play the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs. This may be an easy game for the defending champions, but they have to win it.

Every expert thought that the Patriots would win the game against the Dolphins, but they lost it. Will they lose the game against the Titans, too?

They can’t have another loss. Losing to Tennessee at home would be a big failure, and the Patriots are much more than that. They won the Super Bowl last season, remember? Let’s hope that Bill Belichick’s players will do the same thing this year. It’s an unpredictable game, and most fans hope for a win.

There’s another important question. Is this Brady’s final game as a Patriot?
