LeBron James, Anthony Davis Explain Their Kobe Bryant Tattoos

Kobe Bryant lost his life in a tragic helicopter crash on Jan. 26. He was traveling with his daughter Gigi and seven other people, including the pilot. LeBron James and Anthony Davis got their Kobe Bryant tattoos in a tribute for the Lakers legend.

The superstars talked to The Athletic’s Brett Dawson and offered details of their new tats.

“All my tats are something special,” Davis says. “I don’t have any meaningless tats, so knowing how much Kobe meant to me, I felt like for me, the impact that he had on my life and my basketball career, I felt like it was only right for me to get a tattoo to remember him.”

LeBron has a coiled snake wrapped around flowers and the numbers 24 and 8. These are the numbers of the jerseys Bryant wore as a Laker.

“Every time I look at my tattoos, it puts me back in the perspective of time, or the inspiration behind it,” LeBron says. “So that’s all part of the journey.”
