LeBron James Reacts On Aaron Gordon And Derrick Jones Jr. Battle

Lakers superstar LeBron James is the latest athlete to share his opinion about the NBA Dunk Contest between Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon and Miami Heat swingman Derrick Jones Jr.

According to LeBron, both Gordon and Jones Jr. are professional dunkers. The three-time MVP believes that both players deserve recognition for their brilliant performance on Saturday.

Have you ever noticed that LeBron doesn’t like to take part in the Dunk Contest?

Let’s just say that the 2020 NBA Dunk Contest turned out to be really controversial. Jones Jr. got the trophy, but fans are convinced that Gordon deserved a trophy, too. He put on quite a show.

Jones Jr. won the contest on the second tie-breaker. He finished with a 48 and made a near free-throw line windmill dunk.

Gordon dunked over his rival, and fans were really impressed with his slam. He deserves a trophy. Sadly, he didn’t get one.

Three judges gave him a 9, and he had a total of 47. This decision shocked Reggie Miller, Kenny Smith and everyone else in the building. Even DJJ was sort of left in shock.

This doesn’t change the fact that Jones Jr. had a great performance.

Aaron Gordon deserves recognition

Gordon deserves a recognition too.

He had four 50s in the regular rounds and he had the dunk of the night. It was a neat 360 off a backboard alley-oop pass from Markelle Fultz. The star player scored another 50 in his first dunk of the tie-breaker and should have ended the contest with six great scores on his finale.

Gordon lost his chance of becoming the NBA Slam Dunk king. After the contest, he made a decision. This was his last dunk contest. Saturday’s “robbery” led to this decision. Miller and Smith were shocked. Gordon should be somewhere else. He deserves a better place. The result of this dunk contest can’t measure his greatness.

We’ve witnessed so many similar situations. LeBron never misses a chance to share his thoughts. He can recognize real talent. Let’s not forget that he has all the experience he needs to evaluate someone’s performance.
