LeBron James Addresses ‘Disgusting’ Cheating Scandal

A great number of athletes slammed the Houston Astros as cheaters for the sign-stealing scheme in the 2017 World Series championship season. LeBron James is one of the many athletes who addressed the cheating scandal.

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge, Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout and other members of the Los Angeles Dodgers talked about the high-tech cheating scheme that was busted in an MLB investigation last month.

“Listen I know I don’t play baseball but I am in Sports and I know if someone cheated me out of winning the title and I found out about it I would be irate!” LeBron tweeted. “I mean like uncontrollable about what I would/could do!”

The Lakers superstar called for MLB commissioner Rob Manfred to pay attention to the criticism from stars across the league.

“Listen here baseball commissioner listen to your players speaking today about how disgusted, mad, hurt, broken, etc etc about this,” he wrote. “Literally the ball is in your court (or should I say field) and you need to fix this for the sake of Sports! Just My Thoughts Coming From A Sports Junkie Regardless My Own Sport I Play.”

LeBron isn’t the only athlete to address the cheating scandal

The findings of the investigation led to the findings of three managers linked to the 2017 Astros.

This probe exposed cameras in the outfield and a monitor near the dugout. It showed that some were even “beating on trash cans to signal batters what type of pitch was coming.” The scandal is now compared to the 1919 Chicago “Black Sox” match-fixing scandal. Some fans even mention the 1990s steroids scandal.

Dodgers star Cody Bellinger feels like the cheating Astros “stole” the World Series crown from his team. He even added that Jose Altuve “stole” the American League Most Valuable Player Award from Judge in 2017. According to him, owner Jim Crane offered a “weak” apology.

Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner objected to the MLB Commissioner calling the championship trophy just “a piece of metal.”
