Report: Lakers Interested In Former Clippers Forward

The Los Angeles Lakers are the most talked-about team in the league. The franchise has been linked with a lot of players, and things got really hot in the past few months. However, Rob Pelinka has yet to make changes to the roster. Unlike the Lakers, the Clippers have made a few moves lately. They added Reggie Jackson. It turns out that the Lakers wanted this player.

The market has already shrunk a lot, so the Lakers will have to pick another option. Sam Amick has more details on this information.

Harkless spent most of the season with the Lakers’ rivals. He was traded to the New York Knicks at the trade deadline. His shooting and defending skills are amazing. The Lakers could really use his service. This isn’t the only benefit from this move. Harkless sure knows a lot about the Clippers since he spent a lot of time with the team. The forward would be a great addition to the Lakers. There aren’t too many players available on the market. However, the team will have to buy him out first.

The Lakers are better than the Clippers

This scenario may not be real as Harkless comes from New York. Playing for the Knicks is a great opportunity for someone like him. ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported that Harkless will probably stay in New York.

The Knicks stand really well at this point of the season, and they don’t really need Harkless. However, he doesn’t cost too much, and he wants to play with the team. Maybe he will change his mind and go for a championship. Maybe he will even force a buyout. The Lakers will have to look for an alternative.

But, will they really need an alternative? The team has excellent chemistry and they are on top of the Western Conference. Adding or removing someone may affect this chemistry. That’s why Pelinka wasn’t interested in making big moves. Lakers superstar LeBron James likes his team, and for him, there’s no need for a chance.

Darren Collison chose to stay retired. However, Dion Waiters, J.R. Smith, and Tyler Johnson are still available. Let’s see what happens next.
