Head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots have yet to start off the contract negotiations with quarterback Tom Brady. According to initial reports, Brady’s agent will meet the team during the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. It will be a chance for both sides to spill offers. The Patriots nation is sort of worried about coach Belichick. He wouldn’t give TB12 a two-year deal last year, and he may do that again. Belichick may be worried about Brady’s nagging injuries. The quarterback was added to the injury report on multiple occasions. Let’s not forget that he will turn 43 in August.

But, age has nothing on Brady. He plays elite football, and there’s no decline in his performance. The only problem Brady had this season was the lack of offensive weapons. New England has to solve the problem with the offensive line. They need to get some wideouts and tight ends. Rob Gronkowski left a huge void behind, and the Patriots struggled to fill it.

But, there is another major question that popped these days. Why does it take so long for Brady and the Patriots to start off their contract negotiations?

Teams and players can’t structure contracts if they don’t know what the rules are. This makes us think that Brady hasn’t discussed his contract situation with other NFL teams either. Yes, he may be in contact with some players and coaches, but structuring a contract is not an option now.

Once the CBA is decided upon, wait for Brady to start making smart moves. Of course, he will take his time and do what’s best for him and his family.
