Big News Regarding the Lakers And DeMarcus Cousins Revealed

DeMarcus Cousins has yet to play a game with the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Friday’s report sort of confused the Lakers fanbase.

According to this report, the Lakers plan to waive Cousins in order to get Markieff Morris. This scenario sort of makes sense, but the Lakers tried to convince everyone that they plan to use Cousins in the playoffs. If “Boogie” doesn’t play now, he can sure join his team in the future.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Cousins would remain with the team while he rehabs his torn ACL.

Charania said that the Lakers really want Cousins, and they are ready to keep him close to the team. They will probably keep him around this past season.

Cousins is a talented player. He is one of the best players in the NBA. He was considered “difficult” in Sacramento, but his Lakers teammates say something else.

“DeMarcus has been here rehabbing and been a great member of this team behind the scenes that nobody gets to see because the only thing he can do is be a good teammate and travel, and show up to every game and have a good attitude. And he’s done that,” said teammate Alex Caruso.

Lakers player like DeMarcus Cousins

The Lakers made a smart investment, and they really need Cousins healthy. All the problems have remained in the past. The Lakers may get Cousins for the 2020-21 season. He likes the team, and they like him too.

According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, the Lakers may get an advantage with a future contract for the superstar.

“If the Lakers re-signed Cousins on a one-year deal in July, even after waiving him for Morris, the franchise would have his early Bird rights in 2021. That would enable the team to make a greater financial commitment, provided he’s able to return to form.”

The Lakers sure have great plans for Cousins otherwise they wouldn’t keep him on the roster. Let’s see what happens in 2020. It would be nice to see cousins join LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They’d make the best trio in the NBA in the upcoming season.
