LeBron Explains Nearly Identical Dunk Tribute To Kobe, Comparison Video

Lakers superstar LeBron James pulled out an incredible reverse dunk in the game against the Houston Rockets. It was similar to the one Kobe Bryant made many years ago. The Lakers legend is gone now, and maybe we should consider this a tribute. LeBron is a dunk master, and so was Kobe. What does the king have to say about the similarity?

“I didn’t really predetermine that either until I jumped,” he said. “I just jumped and kind of figured it out, and then …it’s crazy how it’s the same exact dunk, the same exact hoop that Kobe did [it on]—what, 19 years ago or something like that? That was nice.”

Kobe and LeBron are dunk masters

The dunk came on a breakaway, and LeBron threw down a big reverse dunk. Age has nothing on him.

It’s funny how Kobe did the same dunk 19 years ago at the Staples Center.

Bryant lost his life in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif. His daughter Gigi and seven others were killed in the crash, too.

LeBron is convinced that his dear friend helped him do the dunk.

“Ever see the movie ‘The 6th Man’?” King James said, referencing the 1997 Marlon Wayans movie. “Kobe came down, put himself in my body and gave me that dunk on that break.”

The Lakers lost the game 121-111, but LeBron’s dunk will be remembered as one of the most incredible plays of the season.

“It’s crazy, it’s crazy,” he said. “To now have it be a part of my history between that correlation between me and Kobe, that play, I think it’s pretty, pretty, pretty awesome. I’m glad I did it in a Laker uniform.”

Investigators will need a year to complete the official report. According to preliminary reports, the helicopter didn’t crush as a result of a mechanical issue. A witness says there was a mist in the area. But, no report will ever bring Kobe back. His Gigi will never put on her No. 2 jersey. Other victims won’t come back with their families. It’s so sad and devastating. We send our thoughts and prayers to the grieving families.
