LeBron James Announces 1st Children’s Book

Lakers superstar LeBron James will soon release his first children’s book. LeBron has great impact on and off the floor, and this project just confirms his power on the floor. His book I PROMISE will be available on Aug. 1 as part of a two-book contract with HarperCollins Publishers.

Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reported that LeBron’s book “encourages diverse children to be the best version of themselves through action.”

The Lakers superstar acknowledged the importance of reading during a press release.

“Books have the ability to teach, inspire, and bring people together. That’s why these books, and the opportunity to get children and parents reading together, mean so much to me. Most importantly, we wanted to make sure these stories are ones that every single kid can see themselves in. ‘I PROMISE’ is powerful in that way, and I can’t wait for people to read it.”

He took to Twitter to make the big announcement for those who missed the official announcement.

“Yes!! I can’t wait for everyone to read this, share this, feel empowered, and strive for greatness the same way my kids from Akron do every day.”

LeBron James’ children’s book is just the beginning

The LeBron James Family Foundation started I PROMISE to provide at-risk kids in Akron, Ohio with the “programs, support and mentors they need for success in school and beyond.” LeBron was born in Akron, remember?

The initiative expanded in July 2018 along with the opening of the school. I PROMISE is an extension of the ideals promoted by the program.

“The philanthropy work that LeBron James does off the court, including the education that he’s providing to the students at the I PROMISE School is remarkable,” HarperCollins Children’s Books president Suzanne Murphy said in the release. “With a universal message that encourages everyone to always strive for greatness, I PROMISE will resonate with students and readers everywhere.”

LeBron James is doing a really good job with the team, and this success only adds to his resume. He is one of the most successful players on the planet, and we can’t wait to see his next challenge.
