Report: Dolphins Owner Kills Chance Of Signing Tom Brady

The Miami Dolphins could sure use a talented quarterback. Unfortunately for them though, the chances of landing Tom Brady are pretty low. According to Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, it seems like they wouldn’t be making a move on the six-time Super Bowl winner.

Ross was asked about the possibility of acquiring Brady if he doesn’t resign with the New England Patriots. His reply was more than discouraging for Dolphins Nation.

“I hear he’s going to be a free agent but we’re not allowed to talk to him until March. I don’t know why he would want to come to Miami as we are a rebuilding team.”

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is facing reality here: his team is still a couple of pieces away from making a serious run for the Super Bowl. In order to get a couple of draft picks, they had to let go of a lot of talent last year. And whoever Brady signs with, we’re sure he’ll be going for a potential champions to win the Super Bowl.

However, having Tom Brady on board can easily sway free agency in favor of the Dolphins. This will help them get talent they wouldn’t usually be able to acquire. If they manage to sign TB12, their free agency should go a lot smoother.

They probably know they aren’t really in a position to chase the New England legend. Although, it’s also possible that they’re putting up smoke and mirrors to get him. Only time will tell which one of these takes is true.
