Watch: Students’ Reactions From LeBron’s ‘I Promise’ School After Getting Free College Tuition

LeBron James knows how to make our day, and this time he did it with the help of the kids from his I Promise School. The Lakers superstar made these kids happy, and everyone knows that. It was about time that someone did something for at-risk youth in Akron. This time the poor kids are getting free college tuition. The whole thing was caught on video, and it became viral.

The junior class from LeBron’s program found out that they were going on a college visit to Kent State University in Northeast Ohio. When the kids arrived on campus, they received much more than a tour.

According to school officials, all 193 kids will have all 4 years of their schooling paid for and one free year of room and board. Can you imagine the surprise on their faces?

This isn’t something you ignore. These kids were lucky to have someone stand by their side. Tuition for in-state students is about $11K a year. The costs of 193 kids attending for 4 years are about $8 million.

LeBron makes the Kids from I Promise School happy

The school won’t have to front this amount of money. This is much more than a handout for the kids. It means the world for someone who needed help. Of course, they will have to maintain their good standing with the school. They will have to attend class, get good grade and volunteer in the community.

LeBron will say that this is just the beginning. When he opened the school, he promised to provide college tuition for all of his kids. He stood up for the kids. He was there for these angels. LeBron didn’t have a father figure in his life, and his mother struggled to raise him. That’s why LeBron decided to help the kids overcome the obstacles and do something about their life.

This is a huge step, and hopefully, other athletes and celebrities will be inspired to do something about the kids. Millions of children in the food go to bed hungry. They don’t have food, water, education… Let’s help these kids. Let’s give them a chance for a better life.
