Coronavirus: Donovan Mitchell Second NBA Player To Test Positive Following Teammate Rudy Gobert

Rudy Gobert isn’t the only NBA player to test positive to coronavirus. His teammate, All-Star forward Donovan Mitchell tested positive as well. Several sources confirmed the information including Shams Charania from The Athletic.

Gobert has been careless in the locker room as he touched other players and their personal belongings despite all the warnings. The NBA warned players about the potential pandemic, but it looks like Gobert wasn’t really worried about it.

Mitchell is the only member of the Jazz other than Gobert to test positive for the virus as noted by Charania. Utah confirmed the second positive test in the latest statement.

“As a follow-up to yesterday’s positive COVID-19 test, Oklahoma health officials tested all members of the Utah Jazz traveling party, confirming one additional positive outcome for a Jazz player. We are working closely with the CDC, Oklahoma and Utah state officials, and the NBA to monitor their health and determine the best path moving forward.”

The NBA announced its decision to suspend the current season after the game between Utah and the Oklahoma City Thunder was postponed. The game was postponed as a result of the positive test. This game was the first of two games that were canceled. The game between the Pelicans and Kings was also called off. We don’t know when or if the season will be resumed.

The NBA told teams that have played the Jazz in the last 10 days that they should self-quarantine. They played the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors.

Gobert’s attitude toward the situation didn’t stop with his team. on Monday, he touched the microphones and audio recorders on the podium during the media session.

We will provide another update on the situation. Hopefully, we will learn more about the league’s plans for the season.

The situation can easily get out of control. At first, players didn’t pay much attention to the outbreak, but it looks like the situation has changed in the past few days. How will our country handle pandemic?
