Gisele Bündchen Reveals Her Son’s Heart-melting Birthday Wish

Gisele Bündchen will be remembered as one of the greatest supermodels to ever walk the catwalk. However, the gorgeous Brazilian supermodel is much more than that. She is a caring mom and a devoted wife. The 39-year-old is Marie Claire’s April 2020 cover star. In her interview with the magazine, she discussed all the things her kids learned from her, including the lesson about sustainability. Gisele really cares about the planet, and this love will turn her kids in incredible adults one day. Gisele revealed that her son’s birthday wish speaks volumes. She taught him well!

A birthday wish for a better planet

The supermodel remembers one particular story, and it will melt your hearts.

“One story that I can remember is when we were at the beach and my son Benny found plastic in the ocean. He was so upset, and I explained to him that this is what happens after we discard things; they go to landfills and sometimes end up in the ocean.

“For the past couple of years, he decided that he did not want presents from his friends at his birthday party. Instead, he would like if they could donate to organizations that help endangered species.”

Members of the Brady-Bundchen clan stick to specific rules. This only reveals their determination to make this world a better place to stay in. The family uses reusable water bottles, and they don’t use single-use plastic items. The kids even share some of the tips with their friends. It’s a big effort, and these little guys are doing an excellent job.

“As a family, we also each have our reusable water bottles, and the kids understand single-use plastic is really hurting our planet. I see them talking with their friends about it and showing them their water bottles in hopes they might join them and use them too.

“It makes me so proud to see them eager to share it with their friends,” she raves of her little ones. “Although a simple, small gesture, this is what it’s all about: having positive conversations, taking a solutions-oriented approach, and learning from one another.”

Gisele taught her kids well

The three Rs are part of the household, too. Gisele and Brady teach their kids to reduce, reuse and recycle. They follow simple routines and always opt for alternative and eco-friendly solutions. Gisele, her husband, and the kids try to limit the use of paper and plastic. Every change matters, and hopefully, this story will encourage you to do the same.

“This straightforward approach allows us to work toward simple, alternative, eco-friendly processes in our everyday lives that can make a big difference. My family tries to focus on limiting the use of paper and plastic at home. We utilize a water filter and reusable water bottles and compost all our natural food waste.”

Plastic bags? They never use them. When they go grocery shopping, Gisele brings her own bag and buys products from local farmers. In this way, they reduce packaging waste. They do their best to help our planet, and it’s a real challenge sometimes. But, they try really hard to contribute to the planet. It’s the only planet we have after all.

“When we go grocery shopping, we always bring our own bags, and by buying from local farmers we reduce packaging waste,” said Gisele. “We do our best, but it can be challenging when it comes to living completely green — and that’s okay. I always remind my kids that every choice we make has an impact on our planet and that we always need to try our best; that’s what matters.”

The family spends a lot of time in nature and learns about so many things. The kids get pretty excited about the veggies that grow in their garden. They even collect fresh eggs from the chicken coop.
