Jamal Crawford Argues For Lakers To Sign JR Smith

The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to JR Smith on multiple occasions. Jamal Crawford is one of the many to encourage LA to sign the talented veteran.

Crawford is convinced that Smith is the right fit for LeBron, and listed his reasons to think that way. Smith is familiar with LeBron’s game. He comes packed with some insane skills, and the Lakers can really use his talent.

Smith is one of the many names that have been linked to the Lakers. The team waived Troy Daniels, and Smith came in for a workout. However, LA decided to bring former Miami Heat swingman Dion Waters in town.

The Lakers need JR Smith

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka said that the team may add more players. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that LA is still interested in getting shooters. Smith comes handy in that one.

“After reaching an agreement to sign Dion Waiters, the Lakers continue to monitor the market for a shooter, such as J.R. Smith, sources say. Smith worked out for the Lakers on Monday, according to sources. L.A. would need to release someone to create roster space for Smith.”

Smith looks for a potential avenue back to the league. The same applies to “J Crossover.”

Crawford has yet to sign a deal. Last year, he was averaging 7.9 points and 3.6 assists in 64 games with the Phoenix Suns.

The 19-year veteran will turn 40 next Friday. However, he is still looking for a chance. According to Charania, Crawford has a good basketball shape. He really hopes to play with a contender and even win a title before the end of the season.

On one occasion, LeBron James said his team is where it needs to be. They don’t need new players, but LA decided to bring in some new names. Markieff Morris is one of them. Is Smith next on the list? LA can really use his shooting skills. It’s not like LeBron and Anthony Davis need help. But, they can use an extra hand.
