LeBron James Explains Why It’s Okay For Men To Cry

The death of Kobe Bryant shocked the entire nation. The tragic helicopter accident killed nine people, including Kobe and his daughter Gianna. Many athletes paid tributes to Kobe. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and many others paid tribute to the Black Mamba. LeBron and Davis got a tattoo in honor of the Lakers legend. If you ask LeBron, he will stay that it’s pretty normal for men to cry. He cried too.

Five days after the helicopter crash in Calabasas, LeBron cried during Boyz II Men’s performance of the national anthem. This was the first game LA played since the tragedy. Right before the game, LeBron delivered his own tribute to Kobe.

LeBron wasn’t the only NBA legend to cry after Kobe’s death. Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan cried during his speech at Bryant’s Celebration of Life ceremony. He decided to lighten the mood a big, so he decided to make a joke about his crying face. Jordan said he would have to see a new crying meme for the next period.

“Now I have to look at another crying meme for the next 3-4 years. That’s how much Kobe meant to me.”

LeBron says men should cry

Men aren’t allowed to show emotions. That’s what society taught us. However, LeBron is here to break the “tradition.” He believes that men should show emotion, especially when they are hit with a tragedy.

In his interview with Sports Illustrated, LeBron shared the reasons he had to say that men should cry.

“Men should be emotional when something hits your heart,” James told Melissa Rohlin of Sports Illustrated. “When something feels a certain way, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be emotional about it. The emotion comes from, especially in this instance, somebody who has paved the way and done so many great things in our sport.”

LeBron is new to the Lakers family, but he promised to carry on Kobe’s legacy. He will do his best to help Kobe’s team win a title.

Davis is on the roster now, and the Lakers are one of the best teams in the NBA. They have a 47-13 record at the moment.
