Vanessa Bryant Reacts To Report That Cops and Firefighters Shared Photos of Fatal Crash Site
Lakers legend Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash on January 26. It was a tragic accident and nine people lost the lives in it, including Kobe’s daughter Gigi. Vanessa Bryant goes through the worst nightmare in her life as this crash was the most awful thing she has ever dealt with.
To make things even worse, some of the first responders shared photos of the fatal crash. Vanessa couldn’t cope with this. She had to go through the same thing again.
Police officers from the Lost Hills Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department shared photos of the helicopter crash site publicly. Firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department did the same.
According to the statement her lawyer released, Vanessa was “devastated,” noting that she had explicitly “requested that the area be designated a no-fly zone and protected from photographers … to protect the dignity of all the victims and their families.”
If this is true, the first responders made a terrible mistake. These people lacked respect for the privacy of victims’ families. Family members have a hard time accepting the sad reality. Seeing these photos on the Internet was a major blow.
This was really disrespectful to Vanessa. This accident killed her husband and daughter on the same day. She really didn’t have to see all those graphic, unauthorized photos of the crash. Why would anyone shard these photos?
For Vanessa’s sake and the sake of all the families, every responsible person will be held accountable for their actions.
Vanessa Bryant filed a lawsuit after the helicopter crash
Vanessa also filed a lawsuit against Island Express Helicopters Inc. In the lawsuit, Vanessa accuses the company of hiring the pilot with a “conscious disregard of the rights and safety of his passengers.”
This lawsuit accuses Ara Zobayan of being negligent in several ways. This includes “canceling the flight, failing to keep a close eye on the weather and failing to keep a safe distance from natural obstacles.” In 2015, the Federal Aviation Administration cited Zobayan for breaking visual flight rule minimums. Island Express also had an FAA certificate that only allows pilots to fly with visual flight rules. Pilots aren’t allowed to fly in conditions that require the use of instruments.
