Watch: LeBron James Reacts To 122-114 Win Over Pelicans

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans. LeBron James had an impeccable performance as he led the short-handed Lakers to the win Sunday night and a sweep of the Pelicans in New Orleans.

This was an incredible showing for LeBron. He put the Lakers back in the absence of his great teammate Anthony Davis. He made sure the purple and gold remained undefeated in the second game of back-to-backs in the regular season.

LeBron had his 94th triple-double in the game. He finished the contest with 34 points, 12 rebounds, 13assists in his 36 minutes of action.

King James took the lead, and he did pretty much everything on the roster. He fueled the offense and gabbed a key steal against Zion Williamson in the fourth quarter. The rookie seemed unstoppable at that point of the game, but LeBron found a solution to that problem.

“Just trying to be patient, understanding that every possession tonight was going to be very critical and just trying to get the best shot possible,” he said.

Williamson finished the game with a career-high 35 points, but the Lakers proved that veteran-packed teams have the upper hand in close hands.

JaVale McGee had brilliant defense throughout the night. He finished the game with six blocks and had an important role in jump-starting some of the best fast breaks.

“No layups,” McGee said. “That’s the Lake Show way.”

This was a real battle. The game was tied 18 times and had 17 lead changes. Players were able to withstand wave after wave of the Pelicans in transition. They even beat them at their own game with 33-22 edge in fast breakpoints.

Six Lakers players of the Lakers’ 9-man rotation scored in double digits. Avery Bradley, Danny Green, and Markieff Morris hit 2 threes apiece.

“Throughout the whole game, we just had to be composed, understanding that they were going to make a run, and just continue to execute, continue to defend,” LeBron added.

In other words, the king is really proud of how his team delivered. Los Angeles is in the middle of a three-game road trip. They lost the game to the Memphis Grizzlies in a terrible way. But, the Pelicans didn’t have a chance against Davis’ former team.
