Bill Belichick Addresses On His Dog Nike Stealing Show During 2020 NFL Draft

The New England Patriots were about to take part in the 2020 NFL Draft and there were cameras inside Bill Belichick’s home in Nantucket.  At some point, viewers could see his dog, Nike, sitting behind dual computer screens. It wasn’t Bill Belichick getting ready for the draft. It was the cute dog.

Those tuned into the broadcast couldn’t help but crack jokes. Nike is the synonym of cuteness and the unexpectedness of the moment brought everyone joy. Nike is not part of the organization’s drafting squad. The pup is here to support his owner. He is a cute little ball of sweetness.

Nike is an Alaskan Klee Kai. The Patriots head coach and his longtime girlfriend, Linda Holliday, brought him home in April of 2018. The pup made quite an initial splash. Everyone was talking about him.

Belichick and Holliday were seen at a Holy Cross lacrosse game. His daughter Amanda was the coach, and one of the fans saw something incredible. As they were leaving, coach B carried the dog. Guess what was Nike wearing… A cutoff sweatshirt.

In an interview with CNBC, Linda said she told her boyfriend she wanted to get a pup. Belichick didn’t like the idea. However, he fell in love with the dog. Of course, his new friend wasn’t a fan of football. That’s what Belichick thought.

Did Nike help Bill Belichick make the right moves in the draft?

Here we are today, two years later, Nike sits in the B’s chair in his own war room. We don’t have any details of the terms of his contract as an assistant to the coach. We believe Nike gets paid in pets-per-hour with some treat bonus.

Bill had words of praise for the dog. Although Nike isn’t really fast, Bill likes him a lot.

“He’s fast,” Belichick said Saturday. “Not as fast as the rabbits he’s chasing, but he’s close. He’s not that fast, but he’s fast. As you can see, he’s very personable, friendly, gets a lot of attention.”

Bill and the Patriots made a few great picks in the NFL Draft. It looks like he has everything he needs to win a title.
