Bill Laimbeer Believes LeBron James, Not Michael Jordan Is NBA’s GOAT

The GOAT debate revolves around LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Although many fans have picked a side, some people don’t even dare to compare these two. It’s a never-ending debate, and Bill Laimbeer made his pick. It’s all about making a pick. There will always be fans who’d vote for Jordan. There will always be fans who’d pick LeBron.

The Detroit Pistons legend picked LeBron. He believes that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is better than the Bulls icon.

“I think LeBron is the best player that’s ever played the game,” Laimbeer said on ESPN’s First Take on Thursday. “He’s 6’8″, 285 pounds, runs like the wind and jumps out of the gym.”

LeBron is the GOAT

Laimbeer was a bully and trash-talker on the court. He was in no way trying to restart old feuds with his comments. His explanation was simple. He had a few reasons to pick LeBron.

“From day one, he knew how to involve his teammates to win,” Laimbeer said. “That’s something Jordan had to learn for a long time. Now, if you go by championships, obviously Michael Jordan has more championships. But I think LeBron in any generation would be doing what he’s doing right now.”

Today, Laimbeer joins teams’ scouting and coaching process.

He was the head coach and general manager of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. His team went 14-20 and missed the playoffs in 2018 and then went 21-13 a year later. The Aces lost the battle to the Washington Mystics in the conference finals.

There’s a huge difference between the NBA and WNBA, but Laimbeer knows pretty much anything about the game. Yes, he can make a pick and support that with great clues. He played against Jordan. He has seen LeBron play. This gives him every right to compare King James and the Bulls legend.

LeBron is 35, and he is on his way to win his fourth title. He may not be able to do that because the NBA has suspended the regular season indefinitely. If his Lakers return to the floor this season, LeBron will definitely win the title. He is in his 17th season, remember?
