David Andrews Delivers Important Message To Patriots Nation Regarding His Condition

New England Patriots center David Andrews is coming back. He will join the team in September. The blood clots in his lungs forced Andrews to miss the entire 2019 season.

Andrews will boost the Patriots offensive line. New England has 12 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft and they will definitely give him a hand in the process.

I know 2020 has affected everyone in ways we couldn’t have imagined prior,” Andrews said. “But with the draft over the next few days, a lot of dreams are going to be realized for a lot of players entering the league. During this time, there has been a lot of time for reflection on the past, present, and future. As to the future I’m excited that I’ll have the opportunity to play the game I love again.”

Andrews was a starter in 57 of 60 games in his pro career. The Patriots relied on him in two Super Bowl runs. Andrews is a key player of the Patriots’ offense. During his four seasons in the NFL, the center made over 900 snaps three times. In 2018, Andrews had 1103 snaps. That’s about 99 percent of the snaps.

The Patriots will enter the 2020 season without Tom Brady. Andrews can pick some of his work. He is confident about it.

“When and whatever the NFL season looks like I’m just thankful that I’ll be able to get back to competing with my teammates and coaches,” he said. “Go Pats.”

David Andrews is back

Andrews was once part of the Georgia Bulldogs. Fans really loved him. In his recent interview, the center talked about his recovery process. He is ready for the challenge.

The Patriots were so good to me, it was really a frustrating year because athletes want to compete,” Andrews said. “I was limited on what I could do but I really focused on rebuilding my body and trying to turn a negative into a positive. Yes, I got to be a part of the team, got to watch film with the guys. I got to lead a pass-rushing meeting each week. Was still a captain and got to attend those meetings. I got to spend more time with my wife. It has been a different year. I am ready to get back.”

Andrews will join Shaq Mason, Marcus Cannon, and Isaiah Wynn on the offensive line. Joe Thuney may be traded away. But, Andrews is back again so the Patriots may change their mind. ESPN’s Adam Schefter slammed the speculation on The Greg Hill Show.

“I don’t see that. I’m not sure where that is coming from,” Schefter said. “First of all, when you’re dealing a player like that, I know he’s signed, but he has to take a physical, teams are going to have to have a big contract extension with him. We are not in a time in our country where I think teams, many teams, are all that enthralled with giving out big money extensions. There is a lot of uncertainty involving football.”
