Lakers Provide Official Update On Players Test Results

The NBA decide to suspend the 2019-20 season after test results of two players returned positive. It was more than enough for NBA officials to put everything on hold. The number of infected players went as high as 15. Two Los Angeles Lakers players have the virus. Three players of the Philadephia 76ers have it, too. The Denver Nuggets have one positive player. Celtics guard Marcus Smart has COVID-19 and four Brooklyn Nets players tested positive, including superstar Kevin Durant.

LA says all players are symptom-free of the coronavirus. They completed a 14-day home isolation as confirmed by Mark Medina from USA Today. The Lakers will keep following guidelines set by the government. LA players received positive results right after league officials suspended the season.

Lakers players are relieved after the test

Anthony Davis, LeBron James and JaVale McGee are negative. We don’t know the names of players whose tests came back positive. But, no one has shown symptoms, and they will soon get better.

Davis tested negative for the virus but he follows the guidelines and remained isolated.

“It’s kind of tricky because some guys, you feel fine and you could have it, asymptomatic. And some guys you have all the symptoms,” he said. “I felt fine and I felt great. Still do. [At the time] I was like that doesn’t mean I don’t have it. We all showed up and took the test. It was fine.”

Completing the quarantine will slow down the spread of coronavirus among basketball players. However, this move may not have a greater effect on the global concern about the disease.

In our country, there are over 182,000 confirmed cases. At least 3,700 Americans lost their life. CNN was among the first to confirm the information. Authorities are doing their best to stop the spread, but the number of infected Americans keeps growing bigger.

The NBA considers finishing the season this summer. If they decide to go with this idea, the next season will probably start in December. There are a few ideas NBA officials took into consideration. We are waiting for an official announcement from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
