Lakers Teammate Lauds LeBron James For His Impact On His Life Outside The Basketball Court

Pretty much every teammate LeBron James has played with has nothing but words of praise for the Lakers superstar. Dion Waiters is no exception.

In his article for The Players’ Tribune, Waiters wrote about his connection with LeBron. He also wrote about the king’s impact on his life.

Waiters joined the NBA family in 2012. The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him as a fourth-overall pick. If you ask Waiters, he will say that he was just a kid back then.

“I ain’t gonna lie to you. Back then, in those Cleveland days? I was still a kid, too. A dumbass kid, trying to figure it out,” he wrote.

LeBron was all-in when it comes to winning games at that point. He just wanted to win another title. LeBron returned to Cleveland in 2015, and had a few lessons for Waiters.

“[LeBron James] used to show me different wines, different kinds of food. I was Philly Philly. I was raw. But Bron took me under his wing — and now all these years later, here we are again. Less hair, more wisdom. Life is crazy, right? Damn.”

A teammate love for LeBron

Waiters’ son was also impressed with LeBron. They had a really good relationship. He really wanted to see his dad reunite with LeBron. Seeing his dad on the same court with LeBron felt really good.

“When my son found out I was going to the Lakers, he went bananas. Buh-nanas, bro. He’s known Bron since he was a baby, when we were in Cleveland. That’s his guy.”

The 2014/15 season was Waiter’s last year with the Cavaliers. Waiters spent some time with the Oklahoma City Thunder and then joined Miami Heat.

Miami sent him to the Memphis Grizzlies in February. The Grizzlies sent him away after just three days. That’s when the Lakers stepped in. The team offered Waiters a deal. The NBA season is suspended, and Waiters will have to wait before he plays a game alongside his teammate.

NBA officials haven’t made an update on the future development of the season. everything is shut down for now, and we don’t know whether players will return to the floor again.
