LeBron James Will Always Have 1 Clear Advantage Over Michael Jordan in GOAT Debate

“The Last Dance” gave fans a reason to talk about Michael Jordan and his achievement on the court. Some fans remained focused on the GOAT debate. They compared the numbers of the Bulls legend to the ones LeBron James put in the past 17 years. Both LeBron and Jordan impressed fans with their impeccable styles. However, the Lakers superstar has one major advantage. This advantage may put an end to the endless discussion.

LeBron helped the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2016 NBA Finals despite the awful deficit. Let’s not forget that they were competing against the 73-win Golden State Warriors. Yes, Jordan has been defeating great teams. But he has never defeated a team with the same success as the Golden State Warriors.

The ongoing GOAT debate will end here

In 1991, Jordan defeated a Los Angeles Lakers team that was nothing like Pat Riley’s Showtime squad of the 80s. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was no longer playing. Magic Johnson and James Worthy led a team under Mike Dunleavy. This team relied on Byron Scott and Sam Perkins.

In 1992, Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter led an average team that ended up under the Bulls. Charles Barkley led the Phoenix Suns in 1993. He saw a lot of help from Dan Majerle and Kevin Johnson. But, this is nothing in comparison to the dominance brought up by the Warriors. They were a dominant force in the West and nothing could stop them.

The Gary Payton/Shawn Kemp Seattle SuperSonics teams were brilliant in the 90s. The Utah Jazz are still legendary. However, none of these teams came any closer to the Warriors and their offensive power. Their defense was brilliant and they were unstoppable.

LeBron decided to confront the 73-9 team. There was no room for mistake. The three-time NBA champion won three consecutive games. Two of these wins happened on the road. LeBron’s Cavaliers overcame a 3-1 deficit and put the Warriors behind. He put an end to the Warriors dynasty.

Jordan’s fans may be convinced about his success but they should ignore LeBron’s success in 2016. He defeated the Warriors after a 3-1 deficit. Beat that, fans!
