LeBron’s Doc On His School Is The Inspiration We All Need Right Now

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James opened I Promise School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. LeBron’s school was targeting third- and fourth-graders. COVID-19 has forced us to stay home, so watching the docu-series on the school is something we all look forward to.

“I know the streets that they walk,” the three-time NBA champion said at the opening. “I know the trials and tribulations they go through. Yes, I know the ups, the downs. I know everything they dream about and the nightmares they have … because I’ve been there. They’re the reason that this school is here today.”

For those who are interested, you can watch the series on Quibi.

LeBron’s school builds powerful people

LeBron is really proud of his school and the students who go there. He promised to help the kids build a better future, and their success is more than obvious.

Hope is a very powerful thing,” LeBron said in his interview with PEOPLE. “No matter the situation, if a kid knows someone truly believes in them, that changes their outlook on everything. With our school, everything is built on giving kids the confidence that they can do anything. They know I believe in them, they know their teachers, the whole staff, and everyone we’ve put around them believes in them. It’s incredible what they can do when they feel that support. We all need a little inspiration. I think it’s important for us all to see and hear stories that can make each other better. That’s why I’m thankful that my SpringHill Entertainment was able to shine a light on these kids and these families, as well as so many other important things they’re doing.”

LeBron is determined to help at-risk kids. He didn’t have a happy childhood and his mother struggled to give him education and everything a kid needs. LeBron learned all the important lessons of life as a kid, and now he uses those lessons to the poor kids in his hometown.

I Promise is part of a great project, and it will teach grades one through eight by 2022. It’s a great goal, but LeBron will make it happen. LeBron is well aware of the fact that thousands of children need help. Hopefully, other athletes will follow his example. We need to make this world a better place to live in. LeBron made the first step.
