New England Undrafted Free Agent Tracker: Patriots Sign Receivers, Quarterback

The 2020 NFL Draft is almost over, and things are getting really hot. NFL teams will pull out their final moves, and now they have the chance to sign undrafted free agents. Who is coming to New England? The Patriots have signed receivers and a quarterback.

Bill Belichick has brought the team a lot of success in the undrafted free-agent period. He signed center David Andrews, cornerbacks JC Jackson and Jonathan Jones, defensive tackle Adam Butler, running back Brandon Bolden and special-teams ace Brandon King.

New England made a few bold moves, and this time they have signed Auburn slot receiver Will Hastings for $57,500 guaranteed with a $7,500 signing bonus. The information was confirmed by a source. For those of you who don’t know, Hastings was Jarrett Stidham’s slot receiver in 2017. He was able to catch 26 passes for 525 yards with four touchdowns that year. The slot receiver missed the 2018 season due to a torn ACL. Stidham didn’t have much success without his wideout. Hastings had 19 catches for 222 yards with a touchdown this past season.

Hastings ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash with a amazing 6.55-second 3-cone drill and 4.03-second short shuttle at his pro day. He measured at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, but his speed sure made him a nice option. The Patriots will use the shifty wideout really well.

The Patriots sign talented receivers and quarterback

New England acquired Washington CB Myles Bryant for $50,000 guaranteed with a $5,000 signing bonus. The team signed linebacker De’Jon Harris for $150,000 guaranteed with a $25,000 signing bonus, per a source.

That’s not all. The team also signed Syracuse wide receiver Sean Riley, San Diego State linebacker Kyahva Tezino, Auburn defensive end Nick Coe, Arizona running back J.J. Taylor, Williams & Mary defensive tackle Bill Murray, Ohio State tight end RaShod Berry, Louisiana Tech defensive tackle Courtney Wallace Jr., and Mississippi State wide receiver Isaiah Zuber.

Things have started to heat up and the Patriots will begin training camp with a lot of talented players on their roster. Belichick made a few unexpected moves, and the situation looks more than brilliant for the organization. Is this what the Patriots nation was hoping for?
