Patriots’ Julian Edelman Hilariously Recreates Brett Favre’s Epic Draft Day Picture

What’s Julian Edelman up to? The Patriots wide receiver will enter his first season without Tom Brady, and that’s in no way good. TB12 signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he will probably retire while wearing their uniform. But, that’s not all. Edelman was hit with a wave of breaking news. First, it was Brady, and now it’s Brady and Gronk. The retired tight end decided to return to the field. New England is trading him to the Buccaneers. How did this sit with Edelman? The Patriots wideout is busy sharing photoshopped photos. This time Edelman targeted Brett Favre.

Jules shared a rather hilarious post Thursday right before the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He recreated Favre’s iconic pic from the 1991 NFL Draft. Of course, he put his face on it. Edelman was actually poking fun at himself. The veteran tight end was New England’s seventh-round pick in 2009 as a wide receiver. Let’s not forget that he played quarterback at Kent State.

Is Edelman the new Brett Favre?

This makes perfect sense. New England needs a quarterback. Brady is gone, remember? Edelman turns 34 in May and he is far from done. He may be the Patriots’ most reliable target. The Patriots have Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham on the roster. Is there any chance for Bill Belichick to use Edelman as a signal caller? Probably not. Edelman is doing a really great job at wideout. He was the best receiver on the Patriots’ roster in 2019. Moreover, he was the only successful wideout for the Patriots.

Who will throw passes to Edelman in September? According to some experts, Belichick will draft a quarterback by Friday. There are a few solid options the Patriots are checking out, and some of these players can easily earn a spot in Foxboro. This is a rather long offseason for New England, and Belichick has to work harder than usual. He has to fill a lot of voids on the roster. He needs a tight end, receiver, quarterback… Belichick may also double some of these picks. Let’s see what happens in the next few days.
