Report: LeBron James Rookie Jersey Hits Auction Block

LeBron James is the best basketball player of all time. It’s more than obvious that every fan would love a piece of his success on the court. This time we will go all the way to LeBron James and his rookie campaign. LeBron’s rookie jersey will be auctioned in the near future, and it may be sold for $630,000.

Collectors are willing to pay this much and even more for the earliest jersey of LeBron’s career that has ever been put up for an auction. Yes, we know that LeBron is the hottest name in the basketball world. The value of this jersey says it all.

“LeBron James memorabilia is some of the most sought-after memorabilia currently,” Ken Goldin of Goldin Auctions said. “After setting the record earlier this year for the sale of a LeBron James card for $900,000.00, we are hoping this jersey will set the record for the highest price paid for a basketball jersey which is $630,300.00.

According to this report, King James sported the jersey twice during his rookie campaign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron first wore the jersey in his fifth game of his career on November 7, 2003. It was a game against the Indiana Pacers. The king was only 18 at that point. He finished the game with 23 points, five rebounds, and three assists. The Cavs lost the game to the Pacers.

The Lakers superstar wore the same jersey some five days later. It was his eighth game as a professional basketball player. The Cavaliers were playing against the Miami Heat. This was LeBron’s first game against Dwyane Wade. He scored 18 points, three rebounds, and seven assists in this game. This didn’t help the team at all, and LeBron and his guys lost the game to Miami. He and Wade became best friends and good teammates later in his career.

Well, one thing stands for sure. LeBron lost those two games but won many more later in his career. He and his Lakers were about to make the playoffs, but the NBA suspended the season due to the coronavirus outbreak.
