Stephon Gilmore Makes Generous Donation To Needy Families

Patriots owner Robert Kraft used the team’s plane to transport protective face masks from China to the US. He isn’t the only member of the Patriots family to do this. Retired tight end Rob Gronkowski and his girlfriend, SI Swimsuit supermodel Camille Kostek have made several donations. Stephon Gilmore made his own donation to the nation’s effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The Patriots cornerback joins forces with UnitedHealthcare of New England and they have donated $24,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston on Friday. Needy families will receive grocery and pharmacy gift cards so they can get food and medicine in the upcoming period.

Gilmore is ready to do this and much more. He really likes to help people to get what they need. Some people are less fortunate than others, and Gilmore wanted to give them a hand.

“It’s very big for me,” the cornerback told WBZ’s Dan Roche. “With everything going on and a lot of people in less fortunate situations, it just felt right in my heart to give and try to help as much as I can. There’s a lot of people who aren’t able to work and provide for their family, so it’s a blessing for me and I hope it helps as much as it can.”

Stephon Gilmore encourages others to make a donation

The NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year for the 2019 season is always present when people receive his donations. However, the government has encouraged people to practice social distancing and Gilmore wasn’t present. Social distancing can really save lives at this point.

We’re all in this together,” Gilmore said. “We’re isolated and I wish I was there to actually help out physically. I’m more of a hands-on type of guy, but the situation is what it is. Hopefully, I can help out those families.”

Authorities have confirmed 20,974 COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts as of Friday afternoon. According to their data, 4,534 of these people live in Suffolk County. Gilmore and UnitedHealthcare will help the community handle the crisis, and locals won’t have to worry about shortages of food and medication. Gilmore is a hero for these people, and we believe other athletes will follow his example.
