Watch: First Look At Patriots New Uniforms For 2020 Season

The New England Patriots are ready to enter a new era without Tom Brady, and they will be doing that while wearing new uniforms.

New England presented the team’s new uniforms Monday morning. This is actually the first change the team has made in twenty years. The Patriots alternate uniform is now promoted to the team’s home primary. Players will wear a new version for away games. This switch is actually a step towards a complete modernization of the Patriots look. The whole process started more than two years ago.

The Patriots have new uniforms for the win

In 2016, the Patriots first presented the blue-on-blue home uniforms under the NFL’s “Color Rush” campaign. We all know that the league discontinued “Color Rush” before the 2018 season. That’s why the uniforms existed as the Patriots’ alternate uniform in the past season.

Starting the 2020 season, the blue home uniforms are pretty similar to the “Color Rush” uniforms. There are just tiny tweaks made to the fonts on both the numbers and nameplates. We will see red, white, and blue color-blocked socks on the field in September. The navy-on-navy combination is boosted with red and white stripes on the pants and the sleeves. New England’s “Flying Elvis” logo is featured prominently.

The Patriots’ home uniform is mostly the same as the “Color Rush” piece. However, players will sport an entirely new look for away games. Patriots’ white road jerseys are boosted to match the blue pieces.

Patriots’ blue pants are still the same for both uniforms. The away jerseys are complementary to the home uniform with bold red and blue stripes on the shoulders. There are blue numbers outlined in silver and red.

Patriots fans liked the “Color Rush” uniforms. The team had a 6-1 record while wearing these uniforms.

The NFL only allowing changes to uniforms every five years. The idea for a change was first presented in 2018.

New England is ready to make another bold move forward. TB12 won’t accompany the team on their way to the top again. He has his own heights to conquer with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s a big season for both Brady and his former teams.
