Watch: Kevin Hart Shares Beautiful Story Of Playing Alongside Kobe Bryant In Basketball Camp

Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest basketball players to ever hit the floor. Kevin Hart has an incredible story to share, and it includes the great Kobe Bryant and his work ethic.

Hart was impressed by the shooting guard’s legendary competitiveness. Both Kobe and Hart are Philadelphia natives. The comedian shared a story from a La Salle basketball camp they attended together.

On day three of camp, Hart recalled that La Salle head coach Speedy Morris called out all the campers. He didn’t mention Kobe. Of course.

Morris told everyone that they need to show up there and want to become better. The coach was impressed with Kobe and his determination to work on his left hand. He encouraged everyone to work on their skills.

Kevin Hart praised Kobe Bryant and his competitiveness

Hart knew that Kobe would be a superstar. Kobe had approached the camp to only work on his left hand skills. The Black Mamba didn’t even attempt to shoot the ball using his right hand. Kobe didn’t dribble the ball with his right hand. He played everyone with his left hand, and that was more than impressive. Hart soon realized that Kobe actually used everyone to practice. He thought that he was playing some of the hardest defense ever. But it turns out that Kobe was just counting in his hear, “one dribble, two dribble, three dribble, four…”

For Hart, Kobe was “above and beyond the word ‘good.’” That’s when all his NBA dreams crashed.

Kobe died in a tragic helicopter crash outside Los Angeles. The aircraft crashed on Jan. 26, and the basketball world has never recovered from his death. Kobe was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame. He earned this spot and much more. Many young athletes looked up to Kobe, and he was doing the right thing on the floor.

Numerous athletes paid tributes to Kobe. Some got Black Mamba tattoos while others supported his legacy. We will miss Kobe, and sidelines at the Staples Center will never be the same without him. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to his wife and kids. Rest in peace, Mamba!
