Cardinals Coach Kliff Kingsbury Shares Interesting Insight On Patriots’ Jarrett Stidham

Second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham is expected to replace Tom Brady and take the starting position in September. The New England Patriots will enter an NFL season without the star quarterback for the first time in two decades. Although many analysts are skeptical about Stidham’s strength, Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury offers a different take.

Kingsbury discussed the Patriots’ quarterback situation during his appearance on the Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Podcast. The Cardinals coach shared his personal insight on the second-year quarterback.

“It is going to be hard to replace the greatest of all-time, but Josh (McDaniels) and those guys up there do a phenomenal job of developing QBs and if they feel confident in him, I feel confident in what they have going on. I am excited to watch him play.”

Kliff Kingsbury is right about Stidham

Kingsbury has been watching Stidham for a while. He was a head coach of the Texas Tech University and he recruited the quarterback as a high school prospect while he was still a player in Stephenville High School in San Antonio Texas. Stidham joined Texas Tech and then joined Baylor University. Kingsbury said the young quarterback has all the talent he needs to lead a team. He can’t wait to see Stidham in the starting position.

“Tremendous skill set, great young man. I am really fired up for him to get his opportunity.”

This will be a big challenge for both Stidham and the team. The Patriots haven’t spent a season without Brady since 2008. But, head coach Bill Belichick is confident about the Patriots team and Stidham’s role in it. He decided to trust Stidham and Brian Hoyer. The Patriots also have two undrafted quarterbacks.

There’s also another theory about the Patriots’ 2020 season. some analysts believe that Bill Belichick will “tank” 2020 just to get a chance to sign Trevor Lawrence in 2021. This may explain Belichick’s decision not to select a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. This theory makes sense, but we’d wait until September before we draw a conclusion. Stidham is talented, and many analysts have confirmed that. Maybe Belichick wants to move on with him after all.
